The Spirit - Of the Lake

The Spirit - Of the Lake

Among nature’s many sanctuaries, it is the lake that holds a singular, sacred space in Shelly’s heart. Its waters shimmer with the memories of her childhood—sunlit laughter echoing across the surface, the gentle lapping of waves keeping time with moments spent hand-in-hand with those she loves. Over the years, Shelly returned to the lake with her own children and, later, her granddaughter, weaving new stories into the fabric of its shores. Each visit became a ritual of belonging, a gentle meditation where the cycles of past, present, and future converged.

For Shelly, the lake is more than a tranquil retreat: it is a wellspring of peace and healing, a place where the burdens of illness and grief are momentarily set aside amidst the play of dusk and water. Sitting in quiet reverence as the sun dipped low, painting the sky in hues of gold and rose, she often felt herself dissolve into the expanse—one with the spirit of the lake itself. In these moments, Shelly discovered a kind of magic, a sense of power and restoration that renewed her from within.

The spirit of the lake, with its quiet beauty and timeless rhythm, became Shelly’s companion and guide. Its presence was her magic power, a source of wonder and deep healing that called her back, again and again. In the gentle embrace of the lake’s spirit, Shelly found not only solace but a profound connection—a reminder that beauty, healing, and belonging are gifts as enduring as the water’s edge.

The lake is known as Tomato Lake , in Kewdale Western Australia, but Shelly will always call it Shelly Ibis Lake.
